On February 15th of 2011 an off duty officer named Chad Peery was helping out a local business owner during an altercation with bar patrons. Chad Peery’s bravery landed him with severe life changing spinal injuries that were obtained during the altercation. A financial burden is among the long term challenges that Chad and his family will be facing.

The goal of a Taser is to divert a violent situation by bringing the attacker to the ground using “neuromuscular incapacitation” Someone taken down by a TASER goes through stimulation of his or her sensory and motor nerves, which results in strong involuntary muscle contractions. If you are ever confronted and need to use your TASER device you flip off the safety switch, point the laser at the target and shoot. It will send 50,000 volts through the attacker for 30 seconds. That will give you time to drop the device and get away safely. You can then contact TASER about your registered TASER device and they will replace it for you free of charge.
